Francesco Lauria
Born in Parma (Italy) in 1979, graduated in International and Diplomatic Sciences at the University of Trieste, he received a PhD in Industrial Relations from the University of Modena and Reggio Emilia and a degree in adult education at the University of Lille (France). In 2005 he began to collaborate with the Cesos (Center for Economic and Social Studies) in the field of integration policies and social cohesion and economic democracy. Subsequently he moved to the national headquarters of CISL (second Italian trade union confederation), becoming technical responsible for labour market policies, fight against undeclared work, vocational training policies, research and education. In 2010, representing Italian trade unions CGIL CISL UIL, he was among the negotiators of the framework agreement on the “inclusive labour market” signed by the European Trade Union Confederation and Business Europe. In 2012 he was appointed a full member of the technical group promoted by the Italian Government for the realization of the repertoire of professions within the provisions of the Apprenticeship Italian Code. From 2013 to 2016 he was full member of ACVT (European Advisory Committee for Vocational Training), actually, he is member of Etuc Education and Training Committee. Eurotrainer, is responsible for the CISL for European training, project management and research. He is also a journalist and vice-director of the On Line review of Ezio Tarantelli Foundation. He is the author of numerous essays and publications on labour law, vocational and continuos training and industrial relations.
Ilaria Carlino
Holds a degree in Sociology from Rome University “La Sapienza”. In 2005 she started her collaboration with CENASCA, the CISL national centre to promote social associations, cooperatives and business creation, as a researcher and a trainer. From 2006 to 2018 she worked in IAL, the institute for continuous training promoted by CISL, where she dealt with projects and researches on topics such as young people, migrants and women in relation with labour market, health and safety at work and bargaining at company level. Since 2018 she works in CISL as a European project manager and researcher.
Luana Petrillo
holds a degree in Economics from Rome University “La Sapienza”, she started working in 2001 at CESOS (Center for Economic, Social and Trade Union Studies) where, for over 15 years, she dealt with the administrative, financial and reporting management of projects ESF-funded. Since 2015, she works in CISL, at first in the Union Training Department and then in the Administrative Department, where she deals with the administrative and reporting management of European projects.
Melinda Kelemen
Holds an MA in Sociology from Eötvös Lóránd University (Hungary) and an MA in European Industrial Relations from Warwick Business School (UK) has solid experience in research and project management. She has been managing European project on topics such as European Work Councils, industrial relations and migration, trade union renewal, labour law, stress at work, digitalisation and social economy enterprises. She used to represent Hungarian trade union confederations in many European bodies such as the Eurofound’s Governing Board, Advisory Committee on Employment and Change at Eurofound or Advisory Committee on Free Movement of Workers at the European Commission as well as ETUC’ Advisory Committee on Company Law and Workers’s Participation. Also, she was the member of the European worker’s negotiating team during the process of joint in-depth employment analysis of the functioning of European labour markets between 2013 and 2015. In addition, she wrote hundreds of articles, reports on various labour market and social dialogue issues. She regularly did teach industrial relations and labour market studies for trade union officials and gave presentation on similar issues for various audiences. She has also worked as a project manager and researcher in the private sector as well as an associated researcher for the European Trade Union Institution for 8 years. She joined Diesis as a senior labour market expert and project manager in 2019.
Karolien Lenaerts
Joined the research group Work, Organisation and Social Dialogue at HIVA as a research manager on 1 September 2018, where she is conducting research on the quality of work and social dialogue. Since September 2019, she is the ad interim head of the research group. At HIVA, Karolien is mainly involved in the ongoing research in the framework of the InGRID-2 H2020 Research Infrastructure project on inclusive growth, and the Beweging.net/ACV chair sustainable, just and caring society. Her research focuses on the impact of digitalisation in the labour market, working and employment conditions of (platform) workers, social protection, workers' representation and participation, and skills needs in innovative business clusters. Karolien obtained a PhD in Economics at Ghent University in 2014. After her PhD, Karolien briefly worked as a postdoctoral researcher at Ghent University and the Free University of Brussels. Before starting at HIVA, Karolien was a Research Fellow in the Jobs & Skills Unit of CEPS in Brussels. At CEPS, Karolien contributed to a range of European projects on labour, education and social policy, with a focus on the 'future of work' and new forms of employment, the platform economy, the (changing) role of social partners and social dialogue, working and employment conditions, new jobs and new skills, social protection and (youth) unemployment, early school leaving and other themes.
Trine P. Larsen
Is an Associate Professor at the Employment Relations Research Centre (FAOS), Department of Sociology, University of Copenhagen and holds a Phd in Social Policy. Her main research interests are industrial relations, work-life balance, atypical employment and segmented labour markets in Denmark and from an international comparative perspective. She has published extensively in these fields, with recent publications in leading journals such as Work Employment and Society and Journal of Common Market Studies. Together with Anna Ilsøe is also currently PI for the VELUX-financed research project, ‘The Digital Economy at Work’ (2020-2023) and the lead on the WP ‘Self-employed, independent work, and new forms of externalized, flexible contracts’, which forms part of the collaborative project ‘Future of Work’ funded by Nordic Council of Ministers (coordinator Fafo, Oslo University) (2018-2020).
Anna Ilsøe
Is an Associate Professor at the Employment Relations Research Centre (FAOS), Department of Sociology, University of Copenhagen and holds a PhD in sociology. She researches the digitalization of work and labour markets from the perspective of segmentation, industrial relations and institutional theory. In recent years, she has developed considerable expertise in the field of digital labour platforms using a variation of research methods from interview to survey, register and digital data. She has published in leading journals such as British Journal of Industrial Relations, Employee Relations and European Journal of Industrial Relations. Together with Trine Larsen she is currently PI for the VELUX-financed research project, ‘The Digital Economy at Work’ (2020-2023) and lead on the WP ‘Self-employed, independent work, and new forms of externalized, flexible contracts’, which forms part of the collaborative project ‘Future of Work’ funded by Nordic Council of Ministers (coordinator Fafo, Oslo University) (2018-2020). In 2019, she was appointed member of the Council of Sharing Economy by the Danish government.
Emma Steffensen Bach
Emma Steffensen Bach is a partner on the Danish team on the Break back project. She is a research assistant at the Employment Relations Research Centre (FAOS), Department of Sociology, University of Copenhagen and holds a master in sociology. She is partner on several projects coordinated or led by Trine P. Larsen and Anna Ilsøe, e.g. WP3 ‘Self-employed, independent and atypical work’ in the joined research project ‘The Nordic Future of Work’ funded by Nordic Council of Ministers (coordinator Fafo, Oslo University) (2018-2020).
Prof. Assoc. Dr. Inga Blaziene
Is a Senior Researcher at the Lithuanian Social Research Centre, Labour Market Research Institute. At the Institute she is engaged in basic and applied research, report drafting and project management on industrial relations, employment, labour market and social policy issues. She has 20 years professional experience; is often working as an independent expert in policy (mostly – labour market policy) evaluation/assessment. She has strong analytical capacities, is experienced in statistical research as well as cross-country comparisons.
Prof. Dr. Boguslavas Gruzevskis
Is Director of the Lithuanian Social Research Centre and Professor at Vilnius University, Social Policy Department. Boguslavas has more than 25 years of experience of work and management of various national and international projects in the areas of public administration, social security, vocational training, labour market and industrial relations. Prof. Gruzevskis has deep knowledge of both – European and national level social security and employment policy; he is often working as independent expert and/or consultant in research and social policy development and evaluation.
Dr. Rasa Mieziene
Is a Senior Researcher at the Lithuanian Social Research Centre, Labour Market Research Institute. Her main responsibilities at the Institute include social policy evaluation and analysis; research project design, management and implementation, report drafting. Rasa’s research interests include labour market policy, working conditions, industrial relations, living standards, poverty measurement. Rasa Mieziene has over 15 years of research development practice at national and international levels. Since 2006, she has been working as a National Correspondent for the European Foundation for the Improvement of Living and Working Conditions.
Oscar Molina
Is an associate professor at the Department of Sociology and researcher at the Sociological Research Centre on Everyday Life and Work (QUIT) - Institute for Labour Studies, Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona. He holds a degree in economics from Pompeu Fabra University and obtained his PhD in social and political science from the European University Institute (EUI-Florence) in 2004. He was a post-doctoral researcher at the Industrial Relations and Human Resources Group, University College Dublin (2005-2007), a researcher for the Catalan Institution for Research and Advanced Studies (ICREA) at QUIT, Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona, and is currently the coordinator of Eurofound’s national correspondent team in Spain. The main focus of his research has been concerned with comparative industrial relations, comparative political economy, labour market and migration, corporatism and varieties of capitalism. Much of his work has a comparative and international perspective
Alejandro Godino Pons
Is a post-doctoral researcher at the Sociological Research Centre on Everyday Life and Work (QUIT) - Institute for Labour Studies, Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona (UAB). He holds a degree in sociology from the University of Granada and a PhD in sociology from UAB, which focused on the quality of employment in outsourced services. He currently participates in the coordination of European projects focused on changes in the labour market, employment relations and organisations. In addition, he works as correspondent in Spain for Eurofound. His main current research interests are changes in the labour market, quality of work, and industrial and employment relations. He has participated in several national and international research projects in these fields.
Andrea Bellini
Is Assistant Professor of Sociology at the Department of Political and Social Sciences (DSPS) of the University of Florence, Italy, where he teaches History of Sociological Thought. His main research interests are on sociological theory, middle classes, creative labour, professions and professionalism and, more generally, issues of economic and social regulation.
Alberto Gherardini
is Associate Professor of Economic Sociology at the Department of Culture, Politics and Society of the University of Turin, where he teaches Industrial Relations and Comparative socio-economic systems. His main research interests include innovation policies, university-industry relations, comparative political economy and employment relations.

Stefano Dal Pra Caputo
